Bartlett Mitchell feeling Perkee with two-star win

Perkee, the ‘premium sustainable’ coffee brand from Bartlett Mitchell has been awarded two stars at the Great Taste 2018 awards.

Created in 2016 in partnership with beverage supplier Bewleys and the female-run Soppexcca coffee co-operative in Nicaragua, Perkee was described by the Great Taste judges as having “a marked richness” and “deep, dark chocolatey backbone”. They also liked the “subtle smokiness to this coffee and enjoyed the brilliant balance of acidity”.

The Perkee brand has proved popular with Bartlett Mitchell’s clients and is now the coffee of choice in almost 65% of the its sites.

More than 100 Perkee baristas have been trained, and more than 1.5 million cups of Perkee have been sold since it was first launched two years ago.

Wendy Bartlett, executive chairman of Bartlett Mitchell, said: “We have been thrilled with the way in which Perkee has developed both in terms of its popularity and the way it helps to support the Soppexcca, the superb coffee producer behind the beans. Miguel Camara, our coffee brands manager specially selected the bean and roast with our partner Bewleys.

Fentimans changes format for Valencian Orange Tonic Water

Fentimans, the maker of premium botanical beverages, is extending its award-winning Valencian Orange Tonic Water, into its 125ml size format.

The new flavour combines the bitter sweet notes of Valencian Oranges, with the subtle savoury flavour of Lemon Thyme. The result is a bright and refreshing flavoured tonic, which is perfect for mixing with London Dry and citrus heavy gins.

Fentimans marketing director, Andrew Jackson said: “Since the launch of our innovative Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water, we are seeing an increasing number of consumers seeking and experimenting with different flavour combinations. The extension of Valencian Orange Tonic Water into a new size format, will provide this growing audience with more opportunities when out of home to experiment and make every day classic spirits taste great.”
