L'Or Promesso solution from Jacobs Douwe Egberts

Jacobs Douwe Egberts is launching its brand-new premium quality espresso coffee experience. L’Or Promesso offers "the ultimate coffee solution for offices and creates a multitude of delicious black and milk based coffee varieties using 100% Arabica UTZ Certified premium coffee", says the company.

The L’Or Promesso coffee machine, complete with modern design and touchscreen interface allows for personalisation options to match individual coffee tastes, said Jacobs Douwe Egberts.

As well as offering the 'gold standard' in taste, it offers users convenience with maximum running time, thanks to easy operation, refilling and cleaning. Its compact machine design means that refills can be done quickly and easily using singlehanded, front-loading access. Cleaning is equally quick and simple, requiring less than 10 minutes per week – meaning employees aren’t wasting precious time.

Suited to lower volume environments, with a system capable of serving up to 100 cups of great tasting, freshly brewed coffee a day, L’Or Promesso ensures the last cup of coffee you serve is as fresh and consistent as the first.

Rebecca Parker, liquid and beans category marketing manager, said: “We are extremely excited to introduce our brand-new coffee experience. L’Or Promesso is 100% coffee brewed under optimal conditions, allowing outlets to serve consistent high-quality coffee every single time. With a simple touch of a button, users can create the ultimate coffee experience for customers, helping to deliver great coffee and repeat custom."

Teapigs celebrates birthday by giving away tea

Teapigs is celebrating its 12th birthday on November 1 and to celebrate will be holding its sixth free tea day.

More than 400 teapigs stockists will be taking part and giving away free tea at cafes and delis in over 25 countries. In the UK, teapigs will be ‘popping up’ at various city locations, handing out more than 150,000 cups of free tea.

teapigs co-founder and tea taster Louise Cheadle said: “It’s been great to see how enthusiastic the trade have been in response to our Free Tea Days over the last six years. We’ve received some fantastic photos from them over the years, not only sharing free teapigs tea with their customers on the day, but also clearly enjoying themselves!

“Taking part in teapigs Free Tea Day is a great opportunity for the trade to engage with their customers – new and existing – and offers a point of difference from other businesses in the area. It’s also an opportunity to upsell other items on the menu – who can resist a slice of cake with a cuppa? It’s not every day that customers will be treated to a free cup of teapigs so it’s in the trade’s interest to drum up the publicity and take part in the biggest teapigs tea give away of the year.”

  • teapigs will be exhibiting on Stand G32 at European Coffee Expo, on May 21-22 at London's Olympia.
