Costa extends milk range
Costa Coffee has added Lactofree semi-skimmed and Almond to its milk offering to cater for increasing consumer demands for vegan and free-from options.
Its milk range now includes seven variants with Coconut, Soya, Semi-Skimmed, Skimmed and Whole Milk already available. The Lactofree milk is supplied by Arla and Almond milk is from Alpro.
“We know our customers want more choice when it comes to coffee customisation and have witnessed a growing demand for ‘free-from’ and vegan options,” said Russell Braterman, innovations director at Costa Coffee.
“Given the popularity of the Coconut alternative drink, which we introduced last year, our Lactofree and Almond options are the next logical step.’’
To celebrate the new drink options, Costa Coffee has launched a special, limited-edition hot drink for January called the Vanilla Latte, which will be available in Coconut, Almond and Lactofree.

The three variants of matcha flavours; cocoa, turmeric and chai are all natural and contain no fillers, sweeteners or milk powders.
“Matcha has been drunk in Japan for centuries, but when we launched it in the UK, it was relatively unknown. It’s now our fastest growing tea and we have tonnes of people writing in to tell us how great they feel from drinking it,” said Louise, Teapigs co-founder and tea taster.
“In 2014, we launched it in a “ready to drink” format; a full serving of matcha with spring water and fruit juice – it’s a perfect energy boost when you’re on the go.”
Since then, teapigs has also launched pure matcha in a 500g pouch suitable for foodservice and there are now five different matcha sachet products available.
