Novus Tea reveals new blends for fast-growing 'healthy' infusions' sector

Novus Tea will be launching new exciting, organic products at European Coffee Expo next week. Visitors will be able to sample the new blends, Beetroot Apple and Turmeric Citrus, which will join Novus Tea's range of healthy infusions.

Sales director of Novus Tea, Allan Pirret, believes the new blends are right on-trend: "Healthy infusions are one of the fastest growing sectors of the tea market, particularly among younger consumers. These infusions not only taste great, but they have well-known healthy properties."

Beetroot Apple is a delicious all-organic blend of beetroot, rosehips, apple pieces, hibiscus and orange peels.  Beetroot is rich in antioxidants, essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, iron, and magnesium.  Turmeric Citrus is a tasty all-organic blend of turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, liquorice root, matcha, orange and lemon.  Turmeric has been used for its medicinal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties for centuries.

Both the new products will be available in pyramids and loose-leaf format.  Pouches of 25 and 100 pyramids and 250g loose-leaf will be available for foodservice customers.  Retail packs of 15 pyramids will also be available.

Novus’s teas and infusions have won 15 Great Taste awards, including a three gold-star award for Citrus Chamomile.

C’go® has the answer for time-poor cereal-lovers

C’go® has put an entire bowl of multi-wholegrain cereal, milk and seven essential vitamins in just one 250ml bottle to appeal to the 77% of the UK’s population who eat cereal - at a time when research is showing that the average breakfast time is decreasing year-on-year.

Behind C’go® is Oxfordshire-based food-technology/nutrition expert Dr Adrian Massey, who has launched what he describes as the “first ever breakfast cereal drink” of its kind – containing all the goodness of a blend of wholegrain wheat, barley and oats and fresh 1% fat Yorkshire milk, plus seven essential B-vitamins. The cereal is finely ground so the drink is completely smooth and so fluid it can be drunk through a straw.

“Breakfast on-the-go is rapidly increasing and is set to increase specifically amongst coffee specialists in the next five years by 7.4%, which equates to £1.2b rise in this sector alone,” Massey told Coffee Business World.

C’go® was developed to complement a breakfast time favourite, a bowl of cereal, in a way that effectively meets the demands of the consumers’ busy lifestyles. The UK consumes more breakfast cereal, per person, than any other country in the world but it doesn’t exist in a convenient format.

IGD research reports that the breakfast drinks rising 30% year-on-year, with experts predicting a rise from £20 million to £100 million category in the next three years, said the company.

Available in three flavours, vanilla, banana and chocolate, C’go®  can be enjoyed in the mornings or anytime as a healthy snack.

  • C’go® will be exhibiting on stand E5 at European Coffee Expo at London’s Olympia on May 22-23.
