LATE (R) coffee cocktail competition launched
Assembly Coffee and Over Under Coffee are relaunching LATE into a LATE (R) competition on November 2 with teams being invited to take part in three rounds, which are all about making coffee cocktails in a ‘real life’ context.
The competition, which was called LATE last year and focused on latte art teams event, will take place at Assembly Coffee’s roastery, hosted by Over Under and partnered also by San Remo, Oatly and Mr Blacks.
Judges will be Ben Morrow, Dave Jameson (multiple winner of Coffee in Good Spirits Championship), Marcis Dzelzainis (head bartender at Sager + Wilde) and representatives from partner companies.
Michael Cleland at Assembly Coffee explained that for the finals eight teams would be shortlisted from the entries. “The underlying manifesto… is that competitions don’t always need to be super serious and can be fun too. It’s about celebrating community, competing in teams and has a ‘real to life’ based scoring that rewards the skills required to get through a whole shift on coffee or on the bar in the modern café.”
