Esquires targets franchisees in the North

Esquires Coffee is launching a ‘regional development programme’ to help identify franchisees interested in developing the regions it’s targeting, as part of its ‘rapid expansion plans’.

The chain of 53 coffee shops plans to open new sites across the UK by working with regional development partners in nine key territories. This week it was at the Northern Franchise Exhibition, talking to people interested in investing in a franchise, either as a single store or multi-site operator.

In the South East, CBW reported in May, it is working with an existing Esquire’s multiple store operator to open 67 stores over the next 10 years. Founder and managing director Doug Williamson is hoping that partners in all the nine regions will be appointed by the end of the year.

Esquires has stores in China, The Middle East, Indonesia, New Zealand and Canada as well as the UK & Ireland, and was one of the first global coffee chains to serve only 100% Fair-trade and Organic coffee.
